Bike Trails: - The Waterbury Neighborhood
Association Bike Trail Committee was formed in 1996 to explore development of a bike trail
through the neigborhood. The committe has been working with the Waveland Park Neighborhood Association and
supports its proposed trails and link to the Walnut Creek Connector.
If anyone is interested in serving on the Bike Trail Committee contact:
Rick Doyle at rdoyle@galliganlaw.com.
Powerline Burial: While the idea of
buried cables rose to the top in last year's neighborhood survey,
the idea was recently tabled by the WNA Board because of the associated
expenses.
Not only would the project have cost nearly $1 million per mile to the neighborhood, it also would have required many homeowners to be subject to City Code and have their electrical wiring brought up-to-date. This would be in addition to the cost of burying the power lines and purchasing new street lights.
Newsletter: Open position.
Distribution: Occasionally we need to hand distribute flyers or other
materials to the members and residents of the Waterbury area. Postage to 1100 homes is
very expensive. We are always looking for people who enjoy walking and are willing to help
distribute information to 10, 15, 20 or more neighbors. If you are willing to help out,
please let us know and we'll keep you on our special roster of "walkers who will
help."
